Week 4- The Rainbow Sunset

The day had been filled with dull skies that rained off and on.  Once the rain had ceased later in the day, I went out to dinner and while I was driving, I spotted a faint rainbow that was capturing some of the orange glow from the sunset.  I parked to take a picture of the scene in front of me.  I had never seen a rainbow during sunset and it was just gorgeous seeing the colors emphasized by the orange glow from the sun.  If that was not enough to amaze me, I turned around to see one of the most intense sunsets I have ever seen.  I was in awe as I saw the clouds colored in shades of purple, blue, pink, red and orange.  It was almost as if the sunset was a rainbow itself.  I especially loved seeing the colors through the trees, which created such detailed silhouettes.  It was like the sky was on fire, but it was a harmless, beautiful fire that was created by nature. The lamps that I captured even added an artificial light that almost matched the bright orange of  the sun's light.  I was a nice moment in a day that had been so frustrating.  It was as if the sky was putting on a show to show me how important nature is in my life.

  1. Really great imagery in your post - a nice sense of poetry and great thought to take this to the stage :)
